We’re sure you’ve got a beard crush – that one beard you aspire to have. Or at least seen a beard a film and thought ‘I wish mine looked like that’? Well we have too, so we decided to find out which beards really are the best, according to the public anyway…
To find out, we commissioned a survey of 2,312 members of the British public to see which celebrities and fictional characters they believe have the best facial hair.
Jesus Christ, as depicted by Byzantine artists in the 4th Century, topped the list, followed by Rubeus Hagrid, the Hogwarts groundskeeper from the Harry Potter and the actor Brian Blessed.
To celebrate the findings, we’re now looking for one lucky bearded man to legally change his name to Jesus in exchange for a lifetime’s supply of Mo Bro’s products – good deal, right?
To be considered, you need to provide a photo of yourself showing that they have a beard at least two inches long and commit to changing your name if you are chosen.
Here are the UK’s 20 favourite beards:
- Jesus Christ
- Rubeus Hagrid (Harry Potter)
- Brian Blessed (actor)
- Gimli (Lord Of The Rings)
- Alan Garner (The Hangover)
- Gandalf (Lord of the Rings)
- Dumbledore (Harry Potter)
- Forrest Gump
- President Prime Minister Admiral General Haffaz Aladeen The Dictator (The Dictator)
- King Triton (Little Mermaid)
- Madame Truska (Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant)
- Jason Mamoa (actor)
- Dr Teeth (The Muppets)
- Ming (Flash Gordon)
- Jake Gyllenhaal (actor)
- The Dude (The Big Lebowski)

Keval Dattani, Mo Bro’s Co-Founder, said,
“At Mo Bro’s we’re obviously big fans of a big bushy beard, the longer the better, so it’s nice to see that the majority of beards on the list fit within that category and the trend for impressive facial hair is still going strong.
“The debate has been going on for years and it won’t ever be truly settled, but for now at least we’ve got an idea of what the British people like when it comes to facial hair – and that seems to be the longer and bushier the better! However, with great length and bush comes great responsibility, and there are definitely a few beards on this list in need of some TLC from a lifetime’s supply of product!”
