I haven't shaved for almost 7 months now, so have a pretty hefty beard. I've used two different branded beard products, one "premium" and the other a low budget brand, which I actually preferred.
The issue I had with both is none of them did a balm, which I specifically wanted to introduce into my routine as some hairs were going a little crazy.
I took to social media to ask for recommendations and Mo Bro's were brought up by a few friends of mine.
After looking at the site for several days, I finally opted for the wash, oil & balm set in vanilla & mango.
The packaging with each item is nice and looks well presented.
I've had the products for a couple of weeks now. And although I like the scent, as well as the use of the oil & balm, the same can't be said for the wash.
Disappointingly, it does not lather up almost at all. The bottle is only small (50ml) whereas other two brands I've previously used supply in 300ml bottles. Because of this, and requiring 4-5 pumps of the wash, you can go through a bottle of that size fairly quickly.
Unfortunately, I have to state that the wash actually performs no better than the budget brand I had previously used, with the same disappointing lather effects. FYI; the budget brand only costs £1 per item; shampoo / oil / moisturizer / cream - so you can kit yourself up for less than £5. And if that particular brand did a proper balm, not a cream, I would stick with it.
The "off the shelf" premium brand I've used only requires one pump and that stuff lathers up exactly how I like/want. I feel like I could wash my whole body with it and because of its little requirement to get such effect, one bottle can last a much longer period of time.
I fear I'll be taking to social media again soon to ask for recommendations again. I specifically want a UK branded business, not only because of Brexit, but to support a "local" company too.
Maybe it's something the team at Mo Bro's can look into? But I definitely won't be buying the wash again.
