HOW TO ROCK A MINIMALIST BEARD

We admit it, here at Mo Bro’s we love big, bushy and majestic beards. However, you don’t have to have an epic mane to look great! We know that full beards take more time to maintain and they’re not for everyone, but that’s ok, because minimalist beards can look just as good. If you decided to go for a short beard style, read our guide below and get ready to rock that precious facial fluff of yours!

Keep it short

If you decided to go for the minimalist beard, then you should know that the length is the key and you have to find what works for you. If you trim your beard too short, you’ll end up with a corporate beard. If you keep it too long, you’re going to end up with a full beard. A minimalistic beard should be about four to five months of growth with a groomed but natural moustache.

One of the best things about having a minimalistic beard is that the maintenance of the beard will not require a lot of time and effort. You will still occasionally need to visit your barber to keep your mane looking awesome, but you can do most of the work yourself. All you’ll need is a good pair of trimming scissors or a beard trimmer to keep it in a good shape. Simply take off the hairs that are sticking out and cut the split ends. Nothing fancy or complicated about it.

Nothing better than a fresh and clean beard!

We strongly recommend using beard wash or soap. Unlike regular shampoo’s, these products are specifically designed to wash and condition beard follicles, leaving your beard soft and clean. However, just like hair on your head, we suggest using beard washing products 2-3 times per week. Over-washing can dry your facial hair out, so wash it every second day to allow your skin and beard to produce some natural oils. On other days simply rinse it with water.

What products will you need to use?

The good news is that you won’t have to use a lot of beard grooming products to keep your beard in top shape. The main products that you’ll need are beard oil, beard soap or wash, a beard bristle brush and grooming scissors or a trimmer.

Beard oil is the perfect product to keep your beard healthy, hydrated and shiny. It will promote hair growth, and moisturise your beard and the skin beneath. So it’s a must-have product for a minimalist beard. A beard brush will keep your mane tidy and condition it even more. Natural boar hair will reach hairs at every level of your beard giving you a very effective and even brush per stroke. This will distribute beard oil and balm evenly, and trap the products in your beard. Finally, like we mentioned before, beard grooming scissors or trimmer will help you to keep your facial hair in top shape.

That’s all you need to know about grooming and maintaining a minimalist beard. This beard style is not for everyone, but if you want to grow a beard and keep it simple you can have an amazing beard and look great!
